INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The Independence School District announced on Tuesday that Superintendent Dr. Dale Herl will retire on June 30, 2025, after 16 years of service, 12 of those years as superintendent.

Dr. Herl has been a pivotal figure in the district, known for his visionary leadership and commitment to student success. Under his guidance, the district has seen significant advancements in educational opportunities and student outcomes.
