Kansas Softball Falls to Oklahoma State in Series Opener

Lawrence, KS – The Kansas softball team faced a tough defeat against 23rd-ranked Oklahoma State, losing 4-0 in their series opener at Arrocha Ballpark on April 25. With this loss, the Jayhawks dropped to 20-23 overall and 5-14 in Big 12 play, while the Cowgirls improved to 28-16 and 9-8 in conference.

Starting pitcher Katie Brooks delivered a commendable effort, recording her third complete game of the season, and striking out two batters. She is now just one strikeout shy of reaching 200 for her career. Despite a strong defensive display, Kansas struggled offensively, with Olivia Bruno and Presley Limbaugh providing the only hits of the game.

Oklahoma State took an early lead with a solo home run and extended it in the fourth inning with three runs, leaving the Jayhawks unable to respond.
