Platte City woman sustains critical injuries in collision with construction zone


A 63-year-old woman from Platte City, Missouri, was seriously injured after crashing into a construction zone on Interstate 29 in Kansas City. The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. when the woman was driving a 2016 Ford Flex northbound on I-29 and entered the construction zone despite warnings. Crews had removed a part of the roadway, leaving a pile of concrete and a hole in place. The woman crashed into the concrete before driving into the hole, resulting in serious injuries. She was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed the details of the accident from crash logs.
