The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. when the woman was driving a 2016 Ford Flex northbound on I-29 and entered the construction zone despite warnings. Crews had removed a part of the roadway, leaving a pile of concrete and a hole in place. The woman crashed into the concrete before driving into the hole, resulting in serious injuries. She was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
