Residents of Kansas City, Missouri will soon have the opportunity to cast their votes in the upcoming school and special election. The voting process is set to begin on Tuesday, with voters deciding on whether to support bond issues in the Kansas City and Lee’s Summit public school districts.
In addition to the school issues, the City of Kansas City is seeking to renew its public safety sales tax, part of which will go towards the construction of a new jail. The election day is scheduled for April 8, but voters do not have to wait until then to cast their ballot. No excuse absentee voting began at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and will be available through April 7.
To make the voting process more convenient for residents, three satellite locations will be open for voting leading up to the election day. Those interested can find sample ballots and more information at KCEB.org.
