An infant in Prairie Village is in critical condition after being mauled by a dog, according to the Prairie Village Police Department. The incident occurred on Thursday in the 4900 block of West 72nd Terrace while the child was under the care of a non-parent caregiver. The responding officers found the infant in critical condition and was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital. The pit bull responsible for the attack has been seized and euthanized. Police have stated that there is no current threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided by FOX4 as they become available.
