The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office in Missouri has stated they will not be pressing criminal charges against Bobby Hawk, a former Independence pastor and Blue Springs school board president, who was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in June 2024. The decision to not pursue charges was made after investigations revealed that the allegations, many of which dated back to the 1990s, exceeded the statute of limitations in Missouri.
Hawk was relieved of his positions as school board president and church pastor last year amid the allegations. A woman came forward claiming Hawk groomed her as a child, sparking similar accusations from others. Hawk has denied all allegations of assault.
Although criminal charges won’t be pursued, Hawk could face civil cases in relation to the allegations. The Blue Springs Police Department had initially investigated the claims before turning the case over to the prosecutor’s office. Prosecutors have stated that they will review any new evidence or allegations that come to light regarding the case.
