A tragic one-vehicle crash in Wyandotte County on Wednesday night resulted in the death of a 75-year-old man from Illinois, John Carr, and left another person injured. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Carr was driving a Ford eastbound on I-70 when he veered off the roadway for reasons unknown. The vehicle went through the gore area and landed in a ditch before vaulting and landing on its front in the right ditch of I-635 southbound. The car then rolled over and landed upside down on I-635. Carr was taken to KU Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His passenger, 74-year-old Judy Carr, was also from Illinois and was taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries.
