Catholics in Kansas generously drove a truckload of supplies over 1,600 miles to Los Angeles to aid those affected by recent wildfires. Inspired by his wife’s suggestion while cleaning out their storage space, Deacon Greg Trum organized the charitable effort with the support of their parish, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. The community responded overwhelmingly, donating school supplies, toiletries, and bedding to be sent to St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Altadena. With the help of a discount from Penske Truck, Trum and a friend transported the donations to Los Angeles, where they were warmly received by the community, including Los Angeles Auxiliary Bishop Brian Nunes. This act of kindness exemplifies the dedication of Catholics to serving others and the importance of heeding the call to help those in need. The Trums’ devotion to Christ and the Virgin Mary guided their actions, demonstrating the power of faith in action.
