Baylor Bears Make Historic Comeback to Defeat Kansas Jayhawks 81-70
The Baylor Bears rallied from a 21-point deficit in the first half to defeat the 11th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks 81-70 in a thrilling game at Foster Pavilion. Freshman point guard Robert O. Wright III led the comeback with 20 of his career-high 24 points in the second half, with Norchad Omier also contributing with 18 points and 16 rebounds.
Baylor coach Scott Drew praised the team’s resilience and effort, calling it one of the most prideful moments in his 22 years with the program. The Bears, playing shorthanded due to injuries, came together to pull off one of the biggest comebacks in program history.
The Bears’ impressive performance included a 17-0 run in the second half and superb shooting from the floor and free-throw line. The victory was particularly sweet given the embarrassing first-half performance that saw the Jayhawks lead by 19 points. Baylor will now face the 22nd-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders after their stunning win over Kansas.
