Kansas State pulled off a major upset by beating No. 3 Iowa State 80-61 on Saturday, ending a 15-game road losing streak in the process. This win also marked Kansas State’s third straight victory, including wins over West Virginia and Oklahoma State.
For Iowa State, their 29-game home winning streak came to an end despite Tamin Lipsey’s 20 points. The Cyclones struggled with turnovers, committing 18 in the game.
Notably, this was Kansas State’s first road win against a top-five team since 2017. The Wildcats managed to overcome 22 fouls to secure the upset victory.
Moving forward, Iowa State will host TCU next Saturday, while Kansas State will face Arizona State on Tuesday night. The Wildcats’ strong performance on the road has surely caught the attention of college basketball fans and analysts alike.
