Six people onboard involved in a fiery crash near residential areas and shopping mall

A tragic incident occurred in northeast Philadelphia when an air ambulance carrying six people crashed near a mall. The Learjet 55 was operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance and included four crew members, a pediatric patient, and the patient’s escort. The company stated that it was unlikely anyone on board survived. At this time, the total number of fatalities is still unknown. Six injured individuals were taken to Temple University Hospital, with three in fair condition and three treated and released. It was revealed that all six individuals on board the Learjet were Mexican nationals, with the patient being a child who had received treatment in the U.S. and was returning home. The crash occurred just after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport en route to Missouri. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, and investigations by the FAA and NTSB have been initiated. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is offering state resources for the response to the crash. Rev. Todd Sheridan Yeary, a former FAA air traffic controller, commented that something catastrophic likely happened after the aircraft lifted off. The crash occurred amid adverse weather conditions. This incident follows a recent aviation tragedy in which 67 individuals were killed in a midair collision near Washington, D.C.
