Local artist Zeke Henry and his friends have gained attention for a humorous snow sculpture of a derrière that now stands on the south lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. The six-foot-tall sculpture is a popular attraction, with residents and visitors alike flocking to see the cheeky piece of snow art. Henry, who has an art degree, enjoys making the most of the city’s snowstorms and has previously created sculptures like a rubber duck and an Easter Island head at the museum. Despite the playful nature of his creations, Henry’s work has garnered positive reactions from people of all ages.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum has no plans to remove the sculpture, stating that they are allowing the sun to naturally melt it over time. Henry hopes that his art inspires others to be creative, do good things, and bring joy to others. While acknowledging that some may find his work offensive, Henry is pleased that the majority of people who have seen it have had a good laugh, fulfilling his goal of spreading joy through art.
