Chiefs Playoff game on Saturday to experience chillier temperatures and gusty winds

Temperatures for Saturday’s Chiefs Wildcard game in Kansas City are expected to be much colder than Friday’s warmer weather. Last year’s game against the Miami Dolphins during a cold spell saw some fans suffering from frostbite and hypothermia, with images from that game still fresh in fans’ minds.

The University of Kansas Hospital treated numerous patients for frostbite and frostnip last January, some of whom may have attended the game. The Kansas City Fire Department also transported fans exhibiting signs of hypothermia and frostbite.

Battalion Chief Hopkins warns fans to be prepared for the cold, with temperatures in the lower 20s and wind chills in the single digits. Fans are encouraged to utilize Arrowhead Stadium’s warming stations and dress in layers to protect themselves from the frigid weather.

Fans were seen buying cold weather gear at stores in preparation for the game. Some advice for staying warm includes layering up, covering exposed skin, using heated apparel, bringing blankets, and standing on cardboard to keep feet warmer. Fans are urged to take precautions to avoid the dangers of the cold weather during the game.
