A police chase in Labette County, Kansas ended in a serious crash on Thursday night, leaving one person seriously injured. The incident occurred at 24080 Scott Road, about 2 miles northeast of Parsons. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that a 1970 Chevrolet pickup truck was westbound on US-400 highway while being pursued by law enforcement when it veered off the road, crashing through a fence and gate before hitting a parked 2000 Ford pickup truck. The Chevrolet truck then overturned onto its side, with the driver, Randy E. Jackson, 50, of Waco, Mo., being transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin with serious injuries. Jackson, who was alone in the truck, was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
