The Troy-Pike Center for Technology (TPCT) in Alabama has recently launched a cosmetology program as part of its career tech curriculum, thanks to receiving a grant last year. This program allows dual enrollment students to learn the ins and outs of cosmetology, from hair to nail care, and earn their certification and associate’s degree. After 15 years, the program has been brought back in response to student interest and demand. Maranda Knight, TPCT’s cosmetology instructor, expressed excitement about the program’s return and its potential impact on students’ future career opportunities.
