Kansas vs. Iowa State showdown leads to changes in CBS Sports’ Top-25 & 1 college basketball rankings

In the latest update to his top 25 & 1 Rankings, Gary Parrish at CBS Sports noted that not much changed in the ratings after Wednesday night’s games. Auburn retained the top spot, followed by Iowa State and Duke. Tennessee, Kentucky, and Florida also maintained their positions in the top 10.

Marquette survived in overtime against DePaul to stay put at No. 8, while Alabama and Michigan State remained at No. 10 and No. 9 respectively. Oregon moved up to No. 11 after Kansas’ loss, and Mississippi State and Purdue swapped places in the rankings.

The rankings saw some reshuffling in the back half of the top 25, with Wisconsin and Missouri moving up two spots each. Georgia and St. John’s dropped a spot, and Arizona entered the rankings at No. 26.

The upcoming weekend promises exciting matchups, with Auburn facing Georgia, Iowa State taking on West Virginia, and Duke playing Boston College. Kentucky will have a tough test against Alabama, while Tennessee faces Vanderbilt.

Despite the lack of major changes in the rankings, the college basketball landscape remains highly competitive, with teams jockeying for position in the national rankings as the season progresses. Fans can expect more thrilling games and exciting moments as the top teams battle it out for supremacy on the court.
