Texas Tech Red Raiders narrowly secure victory in Manhattan

Texas Tech secured a hard-fought 61-57 victory over Kansas State in a Big 12 showdown on Tuesday night. The Red Raiders dominated in the paint, scoring 40 of their 61 points inside and outrebounding their opponents 35-24. Darrion Williams and Elijah Hawkins led the offensive charge, combining for 20 points from within the arc.

Despite holding a comfortable lead in the first half, Tech had to weather a K-State rally led by Brendan Hausen, who helped the Wildcats take the lead late in the half. The game was tied at 57 with 8:17 remaining, setting up what looked to be a close finish. However, both teams struggled to score down the stretch, with Kansas State going on a scoring drought in the final minutes.

Williams ultimately broke the Red Raiders’ scoring drought, securing the victory for Texas Tech and improving their Big 12 record to three wins.

Next up for Texas Tech is a matchup against Arizona on Saturday, providing them with another tough challenge. Despite falling short of an upset against Iowa State, the Red Raiders have shown resilience and determination in their conference play this season.
