Houston dominates Kansas State to secure 8th consecutive victory | Sports

No. 12 Houston dominated Kansas State with a final score of 87-57, extending their winning streak to eight games. Led by Emanuel Sharp’s 15 points, the Cougars had a well-balanced scoring attack with five players in double figures. Houston is now tied with Iowa State atop the Big 12 standings.

Kansas State, on the other hand, has struggled recently, losing six of their last seven games. Despite Brendan Hausen and Max Jones leading the Wildcats with 15 and 13 points, respectively, they were unable to keep up with Houston’s strong performance.

The Cougars held significant advantages in various statistics, including forcing turnovers, rebounds, points in the paint, and second-chance points. Houston capitalized on a 16-2 run in the first half to take a commanding lead, eventually going into halftime ahead 46-24.

Throughout the game, both teams shot the 3-point ball well, with the Cougars at 57.1 percent and the Wildcats at 37.5 percent. Although Kansas State attempted to close the gap in the second half, they never got closer than 14 points.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by Houston, further solidifying their position as a top team in the Big 12. Their consistency on both ends of the court, coupled with their balanced scoring, proved to be too much for Kansas State to handle.
