A sixth woman has come forward accusing former Kansas City megachurch pastor Bobby Hawk of sexual misconduct. Isabella Davis was the first to accuse Hawk of inappropriate behavior when she was a preteen. Since her accusation on June 18, other women, including Destiny Bounds, Danielle Bounds Hahn, Kari Jo Crandall, Ali Terwilliger, and Michelle Day Volkmer have also spoken out against Hawk. Michelle Volkmer recently added her name to the list of accusers.
The women have used a social networking site to call out Hawk, who has not publicly commented on the allegations. Hawk resigned from his position as pastor of EPIC Church and president of the Blue Springs School District Board of Education following the accusations. The Blue Springs Police Department confirmed that Hawk is under investigation, but no charges have been filed yet.
The group of six women plans to hold a press conference at the Jackson County Courthouse to address their claims publicly. They will also share their intended next steps towards justice and accountability while encouraging other potential victims to come forward. The allegations against Hawk have sparked a conversation about accountability in Christian leadership and the importance of listening to and supporting survivors of sexual abuse.
