A shooting at an Independence apartment complex early Saturday morning has left a girl under the age of 18 injured. The Independence Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at about 2:25 a.m. at an apartment complex on 24 Highway. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile female with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A man was taken into custody at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing.
