Scottsboro Lions Club Honors Past President for 69 Years of Service
Past President Jake Word was recently honored by the Scottsboro Lions Club for his incredible 69 years of service. Word joined the Lions Club on January 1, 1956, and went on to serve as the Scottsboro Lions President in 1963-64. Additionally, for over 16 years starting in 2006, Word was the principal organizer of the Lions annual pecan sales.
Lions President John Powell recognized Word for his dedication and productive service to Lionism. Powell praised Word for his many years of faithful service and highlighted his contributions to the club over the decades.
Throughout his time with the club, Word has been a valuable member who has continuously worked to make a positive impact on the community. His leadership and commitment to the Lions Club have been truly inspiring, and his efforts have helped the club thrive and continue its mission of serving others.
