No. 11 Kansas Secures 74-55 Victory Over Arizona State in Big 12 Matchup
Zeke Mayo’s 23 points led the way for the Jayhawks as they defeated Arizona State 74-55 in a Big 12 showdown. Hunter Dickinson contributed a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Rylan Griffen added nine points to the win. Shakeel Moore also had a strong second half with eight points, helping Kansas pull away in the final minutes of the game.
Kansas took control in the second half, going on an 11-0 run to start the half and never looking back. Despite being down at halftime, the Jayhawks dominated the second period, outscoring Arizona State 38-13. The Sun Devils struggled to find their rhythm, shooting just 21.7 percent from the field in the second half.
Alston Mason led the way for Arizona State with 19 points, but the Sun Devils were plagued by turnovers, committing 18 in total. BJ Freeman added 10 points for Arizona State in the losing effort.
Kansas shot 43.5 percent from the field and capitalized on Arizona State’s turnovers, turning them into 22 points. The Jayhawks also outrebounded the Sun Devils and dominated the bench scoring.
The victory improves Kansas’ record to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play, while Arizona State falls to 10-4 overall and 1-2 in conference. The Jayhawks will look to build on this win as they continue their Big 12 campaign.
