GTIA Introduces New Name and Shifts Focus to IT Channel

The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA), formerly known as the CompTIA Community, has announced its new exclusive focus on serving IT channel organizations and professionals. The renaming comes as a result of the sale of the CompTIA brand and for-profit business activities, allowing GTIA to continue its mission of service to the IT industry. The association, which represents MSPs, solution providers, tech vendors, distributors, and other members, aims to create a welcoming environment where industry professionals can work together to shape the future of technology.

GTIA is the only vendor-neutral, non-profit membership community connecting and representing the worldwide IT channel, with tens of thousands of professionals from over 2,000 companies globally. The sale of the CompTIA brand and for-profit business activities has resulted in the creation of a substantial endowment that will cover GTIA’s operating costs indefinitely. This will allow membership dues to remain affordable and member benefits to stay consistent, while also providing opportunities for charitable giving.

The association will continue to be led by the existing board of directors and key executives, including Chief Operating Officer Kelly Ricker and Chief Community Officer MJ Shoer. Through its new name and focus, GTIA aims to support organizations that deliver technology solutions and drive local impact with a global perspective.
