Former LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has officially signed with the practice squad of his new NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs. The 32nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Edwards-Helaire was a standout player in college, rushing for over 1,400 yards and 16 touchdowns in his final season with the Tigers.
After a disappointing rookie season in which he battled injuries and inconsistencies, Edwards-Helaire was waived by the Chiefs earlier this week. However, the team has decided to bring him back in a limited capacity by signing him to the practice squad.
The move indicates that the Chiefs still have faith in Edwards-Helaire’s potential and are willing to give him another chance to prove himself. With star running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire leading the backfield, the Chiefs’ running game could receive a much-needed boost with the addition of Edwards-Helaire to the practice squad.
Fans of the Chiefs will be eager to see if Edwards-Helaire can make the most of this opportunity and potentially earn a spot on the active roster in the near future.
