Trump selects Kimberly Guilfoyle and Tom Barrack as ambassadors to Greece and Turkey

President-elect Donald Trump has announced his intention to nominate former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle and longtime friend Tom Barrack as ambassadors to Greece and Turkey, respectively. Trump praised Barrack’s experience in global private equity and described him as a respected voice in political and business circles. Barrack was acquitted in 2022 of charges related to acting as an unregistered foreign agent for the United Arab Emirates. Guilfoyle, who is engaged to Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr., was referred to as a close friend and ally who is well-suited to foster relations with Greece.

The nominations of both Guilfoyle and Barrack require confirmation by the Senate. Johnson, who previously served as ambassador to El Salvador, was also named as ambassador to Mexico by Trump. Additionally, Charles Kushner, father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, was nominated to be ambassador to France, and Massad Boulous, connected to Trump’s daughter Tiffany Trump, was named as a senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.

Trump’s choices for ambassadors reflect a mix of personal connections, business experience, and diplomatic acumen. These nominees will be tasked with promoting U.S. interests, fostering strong relations with foreign allies, and implementing America First foreign policies during Trump’s administration.
