The Airports Council International (ACI) World and Amadeus recently announced the winners of the 2024 Technology Innovation Awards at the ACI Airports Innovate event in Rome, Italy. These awards recognize the groundbreaking technological advancements and leadership in the aviation industry that are shaping the future of air travel.
For the fourth consecutive year, airports from around the world were invited to submit innovative technology projects that improve passenger experiences, enhance operational efficiency, and streamline processes for employees, travelers, and other stakeholders. This year saw a record number of submissions from airports of all sizes globally.
The winners of the 2024 Technology Innovation Awards include Dallas Love Field Airport for Best Innovation in Airport Passenger Processes, Toronto Pearson International Airport for Best Innovation in Airport Operations and Installations Management, Emanuele Calà of Aeroporti di Roma for Best Airport Innovation Leader, and Gerald R. Ford International Airport for the new category of Best Small and Emerging Airport Innovation.
Justin Erbacci, Director General of ACI World, highlighted the crucial role that technology plays in transforming the aviation industry and commended the commitment of airports to innovation. Rudy Daniello, Executive Vice President of Amadeus Airport and Airline Operations, congratulated the winners and discussed the future evolution of airport technology towards a more traveler-centric and seamless experience.
