A woman in Florida cleverly called 911 and pretended to order a pizza in order to alert authorities to her location in a field where she was being held by her alleged attacker, Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo. The woman was able to provide her location and information about the man holding her, leading deputies to quickly respond. They found Hernandez-Moncayo on top of the woman, who was screaming for help. The woman explained that they had gone to the field to drink, but he became violent and wouldn’t let her leave after allegedly taking drugs. Sheriff Michael J. Chitwood commended the woman for her quick thinking and the deputies for their quick response in rescuing her. Hernandez-Moncayo was arrested and charged with attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment. It was also revealed that he was undocumented and facing an immigration detainer issued by the U.S. Border Patrol. The incident highlighted the importance of quick thinking and the bravery of the victim in seeking help in a dangerous situation.
