New $120 Million Amphitheater Set to Transform Riverside Neighborhood

RIVERSIDE, Mo. – Exciting developments are underway as a new $120 million amphitheater is set to rise in the Riverside neighborhood. The groundbreaking ceremony for the 15,000-seat venue is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, directly across from the KC Current training complex.

Local and state dignitaries, including Missouri Governor Mike Parson and representatives from entertainment giant Live Nation, will attend the event, marking a significant milestone for the community.

The amphitheater will feature a diverse seating arrangement, including pit, general admission, lawn, and premium options, with many seats sheltered under a striking 70-foot-tall roof. Spanning 135 acres, the venue is projected to include at least 5,000 parking spots, enhancing accessibility for concert-goers. Organizers anticipate hosting approximately 40 shows annually, generating a vibrant entertainment scene in the area.

Riverside leaders project that the amphitheater will draw around 350,000 visitors each year, potentially creating $7.5 million in tax revenues for state and local governments. This initiative is expected to invigorate both the local economy and community spirit.

While the exact opening date has yet to be announced, stakeholders are eager for further details to be shared during Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony. The new amphitheater promises to be a significant addition to Riverside, enhancing cultural offerings and providing a venue for diverse performances that will draw audiences from across the region.
