In the 2023-24 women’s basketball season, the Kansas Jayhawks made a strategic decision to have freshman S’Mya Nichols take on the role of primary offensive decision-maker, shifting longtime point guard Wyvette Mayberry to a different role on the team. This move ultimately proved successful, as Nichols and Mayberry formed a strong duo that led the team to the NCAA Tournament.
