Maya Rudolph’s portrayal of Kamala Harris stands out on ‘SNL’ despite Alec Baldwin’s challenging role as interviewer

Kamala Harris made an appearance on “Saturday Night Live” following a combative interview on Fox News. The sketch comedy show parodied her interaction with anchor Bret Baier, played by Alec Baldwin, highlighting her efforts to reach out to younger voters on TikTok. The show also featured a portrayal of Donald Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, emphasizing America’s contradictions as both great and terrible.

Harris criticized Trump for leaving supporters stranded at a rally in California, comparing it to an Old Testament Fire Festival. The show also featured Dana Carvey as Joe Biden, with Harris jokingly claiming she would be a “jabillion times jabetter” president than “Juh-Biden.”

The parody continued by mocking Trump’s recent town hall in Pennsylvania, where he danced and issued song requests to campaign staff. Harris criticized his choice of music, remarking on his ignorance of YMCA being a gay anthem.

Hosted by Michael Keaton, with musical guest Billy Eilish, the episode of “SNL” presented a satirical take on the current political climate. The show airs on NBC, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News.
