KCK mother demands answers following hit-and-run that injured her son

Adrianna Johnson, a Kansas City, Kansas middle schooler’s mom, is frustrated after her son was hit by a car while biking to school. The incident, which was a hit-and-run, left her son with multiple injuries including a bruised rib, elbow pain, and open wounds. Johnson expressed her gratitude that her son is okay, but is upset with both the driver who didn’t stop to help and the school district for not providing adequate assistance promptly.

Johnson criticized the driver for not stopping to check on her son and the school for not providing immediate medical attention. The incident occurred at 9th Street and Homer Ave. on Monday morning, with friends assisting her son to get to the nurse’s office at Central Middle School. Johnson was disappointed that the school did not take immediate action and instead told her to wait for the principal to arrive.

She eventually took her son to the hospital for extensive check-ups after making a report with the Kansas City Kansas Police Department. Johnson hopes that the school will take more proactive measures in responding to similar incidents in the future. She emphasized the importance of calling 911 immediately in case of emergencies and medical attention. The family has reported the incident to the police but it is unclear if there is an ongoing investigation into the hit-and-run.
