Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, 41, was arrested in Franklin, Tennessee following a minor crash in downtown. He was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a handgun under the influence, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, and implied consent. Cutler allegedly rear-ended another vehicle and attempted to flee the scene after offering $2,000 to the driver not to call the police. Police noted that he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and slurred his words, but he refused to perform field sobriety tests. A rifle was found in the backseat of his car, and a loaded handgun was found in the center console. Cutler was released on $5,000 bond with restrictions on driving without an ignition interlock device or while under the influence. He is best known for his 12-season NFL career, mostly with the Chicago Bears, and his marriage to reality TV star Kristin Cavallari. The couple appeared in the show “Very Cavallari” which premiered in 2018 and focused on her business ventures and family life. Cutler and Cavallari share three children. Cutler’s representative did not provide a comment on the incident.
