Israel releases Hamas documents following intense overnight strikes in southern Lebanon


Israel bombarded southern Lebanon overnight, destroying a commercial market in Nabatiyeh city and a mosque in Kfar Tebnit. The Israeli military says they targeted Hezbollah locations and had attacked about 200 terrorist targets in the past day. Lebanese Red Cross reported four volunteers were injured by an airstrike. Secret Hamas documents revealed planning for October 7 attacks and efforts to recruit Hezbollah and Iran to join, with meetings attended by Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin expressed concerns over Israeli attacks on UN peacekeeping positions during a call with his Israeli counterpart. Five UN peacekeepers have been wounded in Lebanon, and two Lebanese soldiers were killed in an Israeli airstrike. Patients were evacuated from Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza after Israeli forces ordered staff and patients to evacuate.

The IDF declared a closed military zone in northern Israel, including areas near the border with Lebanon, without providing specific reasons for the action. Nearly half of health care centers in Lebanon have closed due to the escalation of violence, with 100 out of 207 centers shut down. World Health Organization Director General Tedros Ghebreyesus called for the protection of patients and health workers, as well as for peace amid increasing injuries and limited capacity in the health system.
