KCK Community Event Honors Children Lost to Violence

After 21 years, justice has finally been served for Pamela Butler, a young girl who was tragically kidnapped and murdered in Kansas City, Kansas. Her mother, Cherri West, has worked tirelessly to ensure that her daughter’s memory lives on. A memorial event will be held on the 25th anniversary of Pamela’s death at Pammy’s Playground in Bill Clem Park on the 12th of October. The event aims to celebrate the lives of Pamela, Casey Eaton, Windy Fine, Erica Green, and other children who were taken too soon.

Cherri is dedicated to ensuring that the children are remembered and loved, and she wants the event to be a day full of joy for kids, with books, toys, music, and more. The goal is to bring the community together to show that there is more to life than tragedy and to honor the memories of those who have been lost.

Cherri’s message is one of resilience and hope, despite the evils that exist in the world. She has faced unimaginable loss, with two daughters murdered in the same city just blocks apart. Despite the pain she has endured, Cherri continues to fight for justice and to keep the memory of her daughters alive.

The event, which will also honor other children who have passed, is a testament to Cherri’s strength and love for her daughters, as well as her desire to create a positive legacy in their memory. Attendees are invited to join in remembrance and celebration of the lives of these children who were loved and are dearly missed.
