- The Paris Mathematics Museum celebrates its one-year anniversary with the goal of making math fun, especially for youth. The museum was created by a team of researchers, teachers, professors, and mediators, led by Sylvie Benzoni-Gavage from the Institut Henri Poincaré. The museum focuses on the present and future of mathematics, aiming to show that math is modern and interesting. The museum also tackles the negative image of math, aiming to make it more accessible and appealing to a wider audience, especially women and minorities.
- Maison Poincaré features an equal number of men and women in its exhibitions, striving for gender parity in a field where women are greatly underrepresented. The museum has received positive feedback, with visitors surprised by the lively and relatable nature of the exhibits. The current temporary exhibition, "Comme Par Hasard (As If By Chance)", explains probability principles in an interactive way. Maison Poincaré will also open for free to the public on 12 October for the nationwide Fete de la Science.
- The museum’s unique approach to math education and gender representation sets it apart as a welcoming and inclusive space in the field of STEM. Maison Poincaré remains committed to changing the perception of math as an elitist, male-dominated discipline and strives to inspire a new generation of math enthusiasts.
