Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein underwent heart surgery and was moved from a New York City jail to a hospital after complaining of health issues. Despite his 2020 rape conviction being overturned, Weinstein is still dealing with serious health problems and was in the intensive care unit at Bellevue Hospital. He underwent pericardiocentesis surgery to remove fluid from his lungs and heart and is not in critical condition. In July, Weinstein was hospitalized for various health issues, including Covid-19 and double pneumonia. Weinstein has been convicted of sex offenses in New York and Los Angeles, with his New York conviction being overturned due to a judge’s error. A New York grand jury is considering bringing new charges against him, with Weinstein maintaining that any sexual encounters were consensual. More than 80 women have accused him of sexual assault or harassment.
