Nine Kansas Jayhawks Embark on Olympic Adventure in Paris


Nine Jayhawks from the University of Kansas have begun their Olympic journey in Paris. The athletes, representing various countries, will be competing in the Tokyo Games, set to take place later this summer.

Among the Jayhawks participating in the Olympics are track and field star Gleb Dudarev, who will be representing Belarus in the hammer throw event. Also on the track and field team are Alexandra Emilianov, who will compete for Moldova in the discus throw, and Hussain Al Hizam, who will represent Saudi Arabia in the pole vault.

On the basketball court, Jayhawks Jalen Wilson and Ochai Agbaji will be playing for the U.S. men’s basketball team. Both players had standout seasons at Kansas and will be looking to make an impact on the international stage.

Other Jayhawks competing in the Olympics include Rafa Bigues, who will represent Spain in field hockey, and Camille Hackamack, who will compete in the Women’s 4×400 relay for France. Additionally, Clement Maertens will swim for Team Belgium, while Tarsis Humphreys will represent Brazil in Jiu Jitsu.

The University of Kansas has a long history of producing top athletes who go on to compete at the highest levels. These nine Jayhawks will be looking to make their mark at the Tokyo Olympics and bring home medals for their respective countries.
