Naperville teenagers Adam Bodtke and Andrew Russell, both musicians and members of the School of Rock AllStars band, recently embarked on a tour performing in various cities around the Midwest. The duo, who have been playing music since they were young, were selected to be part of the prestigious AllStars band, which is a group made up of less than 1% of School of Rock musicians worldwide. Their summer tour included performances in St. Louis, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, and Memphis, where they played alongside local School of Rock house bands.
Both Bodtke and Russell have a passion for music that they cultivated at an early age, with influences ranging from classic rock to alternative rock. They credit hard work, dedication, and daily practice for their success in being selected for the AllStars band. The teenagers, who will be returning to school in the fall, view their summer tour as a dream come true and a valuable experience that will provide interesting material for future essays.
While the long-term impact of their music careers remains uncertain, both Bodtke and Russell are excited about the possibilities the future holds. Russell expresses an interest in working in music production, while Bodtke hopes to continue making music a part of his life. The teenagers’ parents are supportive of their musical endeavors, with some even joining them on tour. The band is scheduled to perform at Naper Settlement on August 16th and both teenagers look forward to continuing their musical journey.
