A 79-year-old woman has tragically passed away days after a shooting incident in Kansas City, Missouri. The shooting occurred on Sunday, June 30, near E. 51st Street and Park Avenue, with the Kansas City Police Department responding to the scene around 9:45 p.m. The victim, Ella Monroe, was found unresponsive inside a vehicle at the intersection of 51st and Park Avenue.
Following the shooting, KCPD detectives and crime scene investigators worked to process the scene for evidence and gather potential witness statements. In the days that followed, the investigation continued, and on Wednesday, July 3, detectives were informed that Monroe had succumbed to her injuries. The case is now being treated as a homicide.
