Next season, the Pro volleyball league will showcase a stronger KU presence.

Three former Kansas volleyball players have signed with Pro Volleyball Federation teams for the upcoming season, further increasing the presence of past Jayhawks in the league. Ainise Havili and Kelsie Payne, members of the 2015 KU volleyball team, have signed to play in the PVF. Havili will join the Indy Ignite, while Payne will play for the Omaha Supernovas. Reagan Cooper, another former Jayhawk, will also be joining Payne in Omaha after a successful season with the Columbus Fury. All three players had distinguished careers at KU, with Havili and Payne having their jerseys retired and Cooper earning the Rising Star Award in the 2024 season.

Havili, who previously played overseas, is excited about the opportunity to play professionally in the United States and is looking forward to taking on her friend Payne in competition. Payne, who played in Italy last season, is eager to showcase her skills in the PVF. Cooper, with a Nebraska connection through her father, is ready to continue her success in the league after being selected in the inaugural draft.

The Kansas City team, co-owned by Kent and Missy McCarthy, will also debut next season, adding to the growing presence of former Jayhawks in the league. With their impressive track records and talents, Havili, Payne, and Cooper are poised to make a significant impact in the PVF and continue to represent Kansas well on the professional volleyball stage.
